Description

Sharpless2-117
Is The North America nebula and The Pelican nebula / NGC7000 / IC5067 / IC5070
NGC 7000, The North America got its name in 1890 from the Astrophotographer Max Wolf who noticed the resemblance of North America.
The astronomer Stewart Sharpless in 1959, realized the The North America nebula and The Pelican nebula is the same cloud of ionized hydrogen.
The hydrogen cloud is separated by a dark band of dust.
A very unexpected chance to image as the rain suddenly stopped and the clouds disappeared for a few hours.
I didn`t plan for imaging this night so I had to make a quick decision for a new target.
